LFG’s Land Access Project (LAP) was based on broad collaborations across the six New England states to improve land access and transition for our region’s beginning and established farmers.

Implemented in phases, LAP provided direct support and education to farm seekers and improved the conditions for accessing land. Project collaborators also worked with landowners, transitioning farm families, communities, policymakers, and a wide range of service providers.

Core financial support for the Land Access Project was provided by grants from the USDA/NIFA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program.

Matching funds were also provided by several private foundations, along with thousands of hours of in-kind matching support from cooperating organizations and professionals. We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership that made this project possible.
